Tudor Costume – Henry VIII Hire Costume*

Henry VIII (1491 – 1547) was King of England from 1509 until his death. His ego was about as big as his stomach – each of vast proportions!  Evidence of this were his separation from the Catholic Church & self appointment as the “Supreme Head of the Church of England”;  introduction of the “divine right of kings” into the Constitution, which effectively rendered the slightest whisper of dissent an act of treason; & penchant for removing the heads from the necks of his wives & whomever else he tired of. Perfect for any Royalty, Famous Dead People, British or Villain-themed event!  Also an apt costume for one of the 7 Deadly Sins – Gluttony.

Inclusions:

• Hat – brown velvet w/light brown faux fur trim, red feather & jewelled brooch
• Beard – red (not pictured)
• Cloak –  3/4 length brown velvet w/gold satin lining, maroon velvet cuffs & gold brocade trim
• Royal Sash – detachable red velvet w/”jewel” chain & jewelled brooches
• Shirt – high neck, long sleeve gold floral print w/lace trim on neck & cuff
• Fat Belly – … if required!
• Waist sash – gold
• Breetches – brown velvet OR black w/gold trim & rred velvet ties at knee
• Shoe Buckles

A note on sizing:

• To fit waist up to 36″ (elasticised), & chest up to 64″ (shirt designed to be worn loose & billowy)
